Position Overview and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a proactive and growth-oriented Controller to join our finance team in a rapidly expanding private equity-backed company. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and enhance the accounting function while driving the development and optimization of financial processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, a focus on process improvement, and a track record of successfully expanding and developing accounting teams. As the company continues to scale, you will play a key role in ensuring that our financial operations are efficient, scalable, and aligned with best practices, supporting both the day-to-day business and long-term growth initiatives.

  1. Process & Procedure Development:
    • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures to support the company’s rapid growth.
    • Standardize and automate key accounting functions (month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, etc.) to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
    • Develop and document workflows, internal controls, and best practices to ensure the accounting function can scale with the business while maintaining strong compliance.

  2. Team Growth & Development:
    • Expand and lead a high-performing accounting team, hiring new talent and ensuring the team is equipped to handle the increased volume and complexity of financial transactions as the company grows.
    • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development.
  3. Financial Reporting & Close Process:
    • Oversee the preparation of timely, accurate financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow) in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies, ensuring transparency for executive leadership and investors.
    • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, continuously improving the speed and accuracy of financial reporting.
    • Develop and refine financial reporting processes to provide more insightful and strategic analysis to support decision-making by management, private equity sponsors, and other stakeholders.
  4. Tax Compliance:
    • Oversee all aspects of tax compliance for the company, ensuring timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (including sales tax, income tax, and other applicable taxes).
    • Work with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax laws, and proactively address any changes in tax regulations that could impact the business.
    • Ensure that all tax-related documentation and reporting is accurate and submitted in a timely manner to avoid penalties or fines.
    • Develop and maintain tax-efficient strategies to minimize the company’s overall tax liability while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
    • Provide support in the tax provision process and collaborate with external auditors on tax-related matters during the audit.
  5. Internal Controls & Compliance:
    • Strengthen and enforce a robust system of internal controls across all accounting processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, regulatory requirements, and the company’s financial policies.
    • Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices, recommending adjustments to processes and procedures as necessary.
    • Lead the coordination of the annual external audit, preparing schedules, ensuring timely submission of required documents, and addressing any audit findings.
  6. Strategic Financial Analysis & Support:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership, FP&A, and operations teams to analyze financial performance, trends, and key business drivers, providing actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
    • Help drive financial forecasting and budgeting processes, aligning financial planning with long-term business growth and investment strategies.
    • Provide guidance on the financial implications of business decisions, such as new product launches, acquisitions, or cost optimization initiatives.

This position reports to the CFO.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, MBA, or equivalent professional certification preferred).
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in a high-growth environment.
  • Proven track record of process improvement, system implementation, and scaling accounting functions to meet the demands of a growing business.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems, with experience managing the implementation of an ERP system (experience with systems such as NetSuite, Dynamics is highly preferred).
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and expanding accounting teams, with a focus on talent development and organizational growth.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting software; familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

  • Responsible for receiving and inspecting incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, and verifying against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Responsible for reporting any discrepancies or damage to items promptly
  • Organize and store inventory items in the stockroom, ensuring proper labeling and arrangement
  • Accurately update inventory records and participate in regular inventory audits
  • Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools as necessary

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The Design Engineer is an office-based role that is responsible for day-to-day engineering activities, generally relating to project planning, mechanical design, tooling, and logistics to ensure that each project is executed to the highest possible standard. The Design Engineer will apply engineering knowledge and engineering judgement to ensure designs are safe, reliable, and effective. The successful candidate will establish and maintain relationships with other engineering staff, field personnel, shop staff, and other office staff.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

– Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
– Specific skills related to cranes, welded and formed steel structures, aluminum structures, machining, heavy equipment, hydraulics, electronics and controls, as it relates to engineering and operations are an asset
– 3-7 years of relevant design experience is required. Previous experience working with cranes or other complex weldments is not absolutely required, but will be a tremendous asset.

The majority of lifting services are performed using up-tower crane technology, which avoids the high cost and disruption of utilizing large conventional cranes on the ground.

Job Description:

Crane Operator (full-time)

Location:

This is a traveling position.  The successful candidate(s) will travel extensively to worksites across the USA and Canada.  Candidates can be based in either Canada or the continental USA, preferably close to a major airport.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The Crane Operator is a field-based, customer-facing role that performs large corrective repairs on wind turbines. This includes the complete replacement of wind turbine gearboxes, main shafts, generators, and blade bearings.  The Crane Operator will operate telescopic cranes, mainly during wind turbine repairs which involve lifting wind turbine blades, rotors, and generators.  Driving cranes and tractor-trailers between jobs sites is required.  The successful candidate will also be required to perform standard rigging operations, tag lining, and ground work.  The Crane Operator will establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers, as well as performing necessary administrative duties accurately.

This position reports to the Project Manager, with daily project reporting to the Major Corrective Supervisor.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma.
  • 5-15 years of field service experience is required. Previous experience performing crane lifts on wind turbines will be a tremendous asset.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • American applicants will require an NCCO hoisting license for mobile all-terrain or truck cranes.
  • Canadian applicants will require a 339A hoisting license, based in Ontario.
  • All applicants must have a commercial driver’s license (CDL, Class 1, or AZ).
  • Must be mechanically-inclined, with a solid knowledge of rigging activities, and an ability to troubleshoot in the field.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
  • Must be able to work both individually and in an established team setting.
  • Willing to work different shifts as business needs dictate, including willingness to work long shifts as required.
  • Ability to travel and provide service across North America; willingness to participate in an on-call rotation after training and certification.
