Job Description:
Technical Writer (full-time)
Location:
This position is based at our facilities in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. From time to time, the successful candidate(s) may be required to travel to worksites to observe work being performed or validate procedures.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating and maintaining process related documentation such as work procedures, manuals, inspections, and training material to ensure they stay relevant and reflect the most up-to-date technology and methods
- Responsible for maintaining and organizing new documentation from suppliers and sales.
- Responsible for interaction with field and office staff to ensure that concerns about work processes are met with the highest level of customer service
- Responsible for contributing new ideas to the research and development of new technologies as it relates to the core business of the company, in a constant endeavor to makes company equipment and processes safer, more efficient, and to broaden the scope of activities
- Responsible to cultivate a positive work environment in order to maintain an enjoyable, balanced, creative, and committed company culture for all employees
This position reports to the Engineering Team Lead.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
- 0-3 years of experience in related industry, specifically related to cranes, logistics, wind turbine major corrective repairs, as it relates to engineering, field work, operations, and planning
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication or related degree or diploma
- GWO Certified is an asset
- Class G Driver’s license or equivalent
- Must be able and willing to travel within North America
- SolidWorks or other solid modeling experience is an asset
Hands on experience working with tools, machinery, heavy equipment, or vehicles, at a professional or hobby level is an asset
