Job Description:

Procurement Specialist (full-time)


This position is based at our facilities in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. From time to time, the successful candidate(s) may be required to travel to visit suppliers.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The Procurement Specialist is an office-based role that is responsible for day-to-day procurement activities, generally relating to project planning, equipment maintenance, tooling, and logistics to ensure that external and internal projects are executed to the highest possible standard. The Procurement Specialist will apply procurement knowledge and judgement to qualify and rate vendors, negotiate pricing, and establish contracts across the company’s supply chain network. The successful candidate will establish and maintain relationships with various suppliers, and internally with engineering staff, field personnel, shop staff, and other office staff.

This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a procurement-related field
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
  • Proficient with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint, etc.)
  • Customer-Focused Mindset
  • General Driver’s license (Class G or equivalent)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to creatively achieve optimal pricing on various products and services
  • Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts.
  • Financial skills (revenue, expenditures, profit & loss), basic understanding
  • English, fluent proficiency verbal and written.
