Job Description: Junior Purchaser (full-time)
Location:
This position is based at our facilities in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. Occasional business travel may be required from time to time.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Purchaser to join our team in a private equity-sponsored environment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and operational efficiency of a rapidly expanding organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Assist with Supplier Relationships: Support senior staff in negotiating with suppliers to secure beneficial terms and prices for products and services.
- Generate Purchase Orders: Create and process purchase orders under supervision.
- Support Vendor Reviews: Aid in evaluating vendors for safety qualifications, supply terms, and pricing options.
- Maintain Vendor Ratings: Help update a rating system for vendors based on quality, safety, price, and delivery times.
- Manage Supplier Database: Keep an updated list of suppliers organized in a logical manner for company-wide use.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with internal teams to understand and support business needs.
- Foster Positive Work Environment: Contribute to maintaining a positive, balanced, and creative company culture.
This position reports to the Procurement Specialist.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

- Minimum 1 year experience in a procurement-related field, MRO purchasing an asset.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
- Proficient with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.), experience with Microsoft Dynamics an asset.
- Customer-Focused Mindset
- General Driver’s license (Class G or equivalent)
- Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills
- Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts.
- Financial skills (profit & loss, /GL accounts), basic understanding
- English, fluent proficiency verbal and written
